Just Because...

I was fooling around on Picnik, and came up with this.

I have posted it before, but just wanted to take a different look at it.

Still not done with the black and blue piece. I worked so hard taking off the vaneer I wanted to give my hands a rest. I also finished the fireplace and will show a before and after on that.

Well I want to get busy painting, I am BELIEVING that I will have the after for you by the end of the week.

Have a GREAT day!

Gaining Confidence

I am really not sure what happened to me in the last quarter of the year. October is my favorite month, but after that November and December seemed low. I told Josh I think that I do this every year. It is a roller coaster, and next year I am not taking the ride. But, that is behind me and I am feeling confident.

My sales at my booth are up, and I have decided that I am going to start my Etsy store back up. Here is what I am most excited for. . . I found a shop that is perfect for my furniture. I just snooped around the last time I was there, and introduced myself and what I do, you know planted the seed. I am going to put a portfolio together, and show it to the shop owner. Hopefully she will like my stuff, and I can start selling. Fingers crossed, please oh please let her like my creations.

Well I have a little teaser for today. I had hoped to be done with this yesterday, BUT you will have to wait for the reveal tomorrow.
I was half way done with painting it, when I tore off part of the vaneer (oh vaneer how I hate, I mean really dislike thee). But, I know it will turn out much better then expected now. The following pictures are the before and during process, tomorrow I will show you the finished product.

I don't know where my husband gets that I am so messy!

I tore off the bottom. She will get new legs tonight.

This is the route I am going, come back tomorrow and check her out!

Remember I am Believing in 100 followers by the end of the month. Considering it is the 25th, I am now holding out for a miracle!

Have a great day!

New Living Room Floors

I said I would reveal our new living room floors today, but before I show you the after I must show you were we began.

In the corner was a built-in for the tv, it was very nice but, our tv didn't fit. We also wanted to try and open up the space, so we knocked it down, and that was the best part. I really enjoy demolition not so much the clean up, or the putting back together. We then had this.

The next step was to rip up the carpet, which turned into a much bigger project then expected. Because ripping up the carpet turned into this. . .

We had rotted subfloor. There must have been a leak, or flood when the previous owners had this home. My husband and his brother ripped up all the old subfloors and replaced with new. Which I might add is very tedious and hard work. I am grateful I did not have to do this part. They also had to add a new joist under the fireplace for support.

When my sister and her boys came to stay for Thanksgiving, we had no furniture, only subfloors down, and tape to cover the cracks. I worried about it for all of two seconds. My sister is very low manitence, and her kids could care less. All the kids shacked up in the bedrooms, and were just happy to be together. I wish I could have a kid's mentality more often. They see the world so much differently then we do. Well anyway back to the floors. Here they are finished, I think they turned out great! I love them! They have so much character, and the new owner's (whomever you might be) will be sure and love them.

Josh's dad and uncle installed them for free! THANKS!!! Josh and I sanded and added the three coats of poly. They are 6 inch hickory #2's. Which Josh picked out, because I was so overwhelmed by the choices. He has great taste, and I was able to release control, something I am working on.

My mom is in this week from North Dakota, and I am taking her back to Nashville to catch a flight. I am really wanting to visit some shops while I am down there, but not sure if I can fit it in. Today I am back at my booth working, I will try and remember to take pictures while I am there. We are having a red heart event this weekend, and I want to add a few things.

Hoping you have a wonderful day!

Believe. . .Part 2

Source

So yesterday my post was to tell the world that for the year of 2012, my word is believe. I think that it is the perfect word for this year. I believe the Lord has shown me several things over the past months. Some things he has been repeating over and over for the last few years (yes you guessed it, I am very stubborn). Now, I have to take this information and believe. In other words I have to have faith, agree, let go, and take steps in the new things I am BELIEVING in.

#1 We will be totally debt free in 2012, and I mean owe nobody anything! This will take place after the sale of our home, which will be the focus of alot of my post, the before and afters!

#2 I can with the Lord's help loose weight and get back in shape. . .could I dare say maybe even better then when I was in high school!

#3 I can make this business a success, even when I have set backs! I can make a good income, not just sale a few things here and there!

#4 IF I want to go back to school and become a RN, I can, and be a good one!

5# My secret, will become a reality!

6# I am believing and praying for my husband everyday that he can achieve the presidents club (this is a secret 2, well at least from him)!

Well, if I think of more I will add later. Tomorrow I am going to reveal our new hardwood floors. . .they are beautiful I must say!!!

Please remember I am trying to obtain 100 followers, would you be so kind?

BELIEVE

When I saw the post about the word of the year by Layla,
I knew it was time to write something. I listen to K-Love all the time, that is where I had first heard of choosing a word for the year. I prayed for a word and recieved the word "conquer" for 2011. I knew it was an answer to prayer, because that word is to strong and bold for where I was in life. Going through the year last year, I didn't realize just how much I had conquered. I may seem strong, and confident to some, but if you take a look on the inside you would see someone very different. I am listing below a list of things conquered in 2011. Not for bragging rights, but simply to remember all he has brought me through.

1. I took A&P, and I got an A (this side of my brain is not strong)

2. I opened my online store on etsy

3. I rented out a booth in my hometown, and am still selling

4. I put my furniture on facebook for the world, and much harder my peers to see

5. My husband and I took a huge step, one of obedience, and without certain outcome, this will hopefully lead to future posting. . .

But, this link party is supposed to be about your word for this year, so without any more rambling my word is

I know that I have been missing in action for a long time, but I have been working on me!!! Lets all BELIEVE postings will begin to become more frequent!

My next entry will be what I am "BELIEVING" for 2012, hope to see you back here tomorrow. I will say that one of things I want to believe is for my blog to grow this year, help me out by becoming a follower! Let's just see how the power of "Believing" can work. . .

I am "believing" I can have 100 followers by the end of the month!

Have a wonderful day!
